Joshua Z. Stein received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arizona, where he majored in Political Science with a double minor in Psychology and History. He also participated in the Reserve Officer Training Corps, and upon graduation was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Joshua was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and played varsity rugby for the university.

Upon graduation from University of Arizona, Joshua served his active duty at Fort Eustis, in Newport News, VA, and then went on to law school in San Diego, where he received his Juris Doctorate from Western State University. During two consecutive summers he completed externship courses in England, at Trinity College at Cambridge University, and Magdallen College at Oxford University, respectively. While in law school he was promoted to the rank of first Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve, and also worked for the San Diego Public Defender’s Office of Indigent Defense, where he gained valuable courtroom experience not offered to most law students.

Joshua’s extensive domestic and international travels have given him broad exposure to many cultural experiences, which have provided him with a solid foundation for relating to a wide range of personalities. An Orange County native and graduate of El Modena High School in the city of Orange, he passed the California Bar Exam and returned to his hometown, where he has been practicing law for over 15 years.
